Ryukakusan is a throat medicine primarily composed of herbal ingredients (balloon flower root, senega root, Chinese licorice root, and licorice root) that enhance cough-suppressing and expectorant effects. The inner surface of the human trachea is covered with ciliated cells. These cilia vibrate continuously at a speed of approximately 1,500 times per minute, while the tracheal wall secretes mucus.Dust, dirt, bacteria, and other particles entering the airway are trapped by this mucus and expelled from the body by the beating of the cilia. This is the body's natural cleansing mechanism.
