Kakkonto is a formula recorded in the Shanghan Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue, classical Chinese medical texts considered foundational to Kampo medicine. It is effective for colds and stiff shoulders. It is particularly effective for symptoms at the onset of a cold, such as fever, chills, and persistent coldness.

Take three times daily before meals or between meals with water or warm water.
Adult daily dosage: 9 tablets (412 mg per tablet) Kakkonto Extract (1/2 dose) ... 2600 mg [Extracted from:Ma Huang and Tai S- each 2.0 g, Kei Hi and Shaku Yaku each 1.5 g, Kanzo 1.0 g, Sh- Ky- 0.5 g.- Additives: Hydroxypropyl cellulose, talc, silicon dioxide, cross-linked CMC-Na, crospovidone,stearic acid Mg, polyvinyl alcohol-acrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer, titanium dioxide, and carnauba wax.
